# IdP-Based Auto-Provisioning

If you already manage user access through your Identity Provider (e.g. Google Workspace, Entra ID), Cakewalk can automatically complete the corresponding provisioning tasks—without duplicating logic or manual effort.

#### Before You Start

To integrate your existing auto-provisioning workflows from your IdP with Cakewalk, make sure you’ve completed the prerequisites outlined [here](/docs/how-to-guides/auto-provisioning/introduction/prerequisites-for-auto-provisioning.md).

Keep in mind that you’ll need to do two things:

1. **Activate auto-provisioning for the app**
2. **Add the app to a user group that is synced with your IdP**

Once set up, users added to or removed from the synced group will be automatically marked as provisioned or deprovisioned in Cakewalk.

#### Setup Steps

1. Navigate to `App governance`

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://www.cakewalk.security/docs/how-to-guides/auto-provisioning/how-it-works/idp-based-auto-provisioning.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
