Employment Hero

Connect Employment Hero to Cakewalk as an identity source: create an application in the Developer Portal and copy its credentials into the flow.

Employment Hero connects to Cakewalk with an application you create in Employment Hero's Developer Portal. The shared flow in Connecting an HRIS covers what syncs and what happens after you save; this page covers the Employment Hero side.

✅ Before You Start

• Use an owner or admin-type account to complete the connection flow.
• Employment Hero restricts the available endpoints by account level and restricts which employees can be read. For example, employees cannot see owner information.

🛠 Connect

1. In Cakewalk, go to Settings → Data Sources → Users and select Employment Hero.
2. Sign in to the Employment Hero dashboard and click your account name in the top right corner.
3. Click Developer Portal.
4. In the developer portal, click Add Application.
5. Copy the Name, Redirect URI and Scopes from the connection flow into the new application, then click create. The flow shows the exact scopes to select. There are two instances of the employees:list scope: if you are asked to add it, select both.
6. Copy the Client id and Client secret, paste them back into the connection flow and click continue.
7. Click Sign in with Employment Hero to authorize the integration.
