# Kenjo

Kenjo connects to Cakewalk with an API key you generate in Kenjo's settings; for the shared flow, see [Connecting an HRIS](/docs/platform-overview/connections-and-integrations/connecting-an-hris.md).

### ✅ Before You Start

* Your company's Kenjo instance must be on the Connect plan.
* Your account must belong to the Admin profile in your company's Kenjo instance.
* To check: log in to Kenjo, click the cog icon in the bottom left of the page and look for the **Overview** tab at the top of the screen. If you cannot see it, your account is not in the Admin profile: find out who is an Admin in your company's Kenjo instance and ask them to promote you or take over the setup.

### 🛠 Connect

1. In Cakewalk, go to **Settings → Data Sources → Users** and select Kenjo.
2. In Kenjo, open the API Keys settings page at `https://app.kenjo.io/cloud/settings/api-keys`.
3. Click **GENERATE NEW API KEY**.
4. Enable the Custom Permissions the connection flow indicates, then copy the API key. The connection flow shows the exact list.
5. Enter the API key in the connection flow and press **Set up Integration**.
